In the UK the norm is 10%. I prefer to tip in cash as some places take
months to dole out tips added to card purchases, if ever. If the service
is lousy of course I don't tip. Plenty of places add an automatic tip of
up to 12.5% which is atrocious and I would contest that and not go there
again.
