Yes, that was what I usually wore: flight suit, boots and parachute harness with survival vest. (Plus helmet and oxygen mask, of course)
I was not a pilot, but a Naval Flight Officer, functioning as a Radar Intercept Officer and a Bombardier/Navigator. I flew i the back seat of the F-4B and the right set of the A-6A, neither of which had flight controls in the Navy/Marine versions; just lots of radar and electronics.
