In this case, sigle-use cameras are the way to go! Waaaaay cheaper than zooms <G> Now, seriously: the price argument is ridiculous. You comparing the cheapest zooms to the most expensive primes. I dare you to name a single f/2.8 prime in 28-80 range that would be as expensive as *any* zoom of that speed. And don't get me started on their weight! The same goes for any range. The *comparable quality* zooms are *way* more expensive and heavy and bulky and so on.
