1. I've found macro lenses to often be a bit harsh in their bokeh. (I do know that, here on the PDML, a 100-ish macro lens - 90-105mm, say - has often been recommended for combination macro/portrait use, but this is usually not an ideal compromise, due to both bokeh and speed considerations.) 2. f/2.5 is really pretty close to f/2.8, so it is faster (is that 1/3 of a stop?), but not substantially. 3. I'd find 125mm to be usually getting a little long for portrait use under most indoor conditions. 4. The "finer focus capability" is interesting Rob.
