Curious, I was thinking that it was mostly a feature of operating system, not specific phone. But then again, Note 4 is rather old. I think that Android 5.0 was actually an upgrade and that it came with Android 4.4.x by default. Hence maybe your situation. I must say that I rather recently (less than half a year) upgraded from Note 3 to Note 5 and I am very happy camper.
