Hi Bill ...
> (1) Do any of you have comments on the practice of presoaking roll film > in water (or perhaps dilute Photo-flo??) prior to the developer? I don't see any reason to do it, although Tom's point about loading wet reels makes sense. The real key is to be consistent in what you do. > (2) Any comments on tranferring a loaded roll into a tank already filled > with developer, rather than adding developer through the cap? Again, this is a non-issue. Perhaps in the days when tanks didn't load fill as quickly it could have been a concern, but these days tanks fill easily and empty at about the same rate (at least the Jobo tanks that I use do). Again, consistency is more important. > (3) Finally, any comments on Microdol vs. D-76 vs. HC-110 vs. Microphen? > My plan is to standardize on a single developer if possible. D-76 seems the way to go, at least until you decide what other characteristics you may prefer. D-76 is something of a standard by which other developers are compared. The TX and D-76 combination is hard to beat, especially while learning or refamiliarizing yourself with the process. Delta 3200 is a pretty nice film. For that Ilford's DD-X is a fine, albeit somewhat spendy, choice. Microphen may be a good option with D3200 as well. -- Shel Belinkoff mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://home.earthlink.net/~belinkoff/ - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
