Hi Tom, Thanks very much for the reply. That's exactly the kind of information I was looking for. Especially interesting about the practice of presoaking. I wasn't sure if this might be better than a few solid raps against the tabletop to dislodge bubbles. I hadn't thought about the situation you describe, where you're trying to get rid of water spots.
