Any downside other than price? I didn’t bother as the upgrade wasn’t giving me anything I especially care about. The brouhaha about the noise reduction is, IMHO, an overreaction. The very thorough test that Pentax Forums did showed that noise was reduced, detail wasn’t. The test that DPR did showed the opposite, but DPR has a long history of not being able to run a test without fucking something up. If you do a lot of shooting at higher ISOs the upgrade would be a good thing.
