I use Image Sync with my K-S2 without any problems (and hopefully with the K-1 I will get next week). I have Image Sync installed on my ZTE V8 Mini (on Android 7.0) and have just tried the app on my 5 year old Samsung Galaxy Note 8.0, which runs Android 4.4. It also works well on that device. Are you sure you have followed all the procedures needed to run the app (turning on wi-fi on your KP and then connect your mobile to your Pentax camera wi-fi spot by typing the password, etc.)?
