Olympus makes extremely good lenses. I've always found them to be on par with
Zeiss and Leica lenses, at least their pro-line lenses. :)

I looked through photos I've posted on Flickr made with the E-M1 and 50-200mm
lens. Seems I use the EC-14 teleconverter with this lens a lot of the time,
netting the FF equivalent of a 70 to 560 mm f/4 to f/4.5, or something like
that. With the E-M1's IS, it's real easy to get very sharp hand-held results
even at very long effective focal lengths. Here are a few shots I posted to
flickr:

The EC14 is a *perfect* optical match to the 50-200 zoom lens, especially the
early one like I have. It actually performs better with the teleconverter in
place than without, particularly at near full aperture.

What works on the Olympus cameras in way of M-mount lenses can be quite
variable. Longer focal lengths (35 and up) do a lot better than shorter focal
lengths.

One lens that surprises is the Pentax-L 43mm f/1.9 Special (the LTM version of
the FA43mm Limited). This lens, because it is basically an SLR lens fitted in a
Leica thread mount, produces remarkably good results on nearly any body I've
tried it on. Of course, it comes out to be a nice portrait tele on FourThirds
format. I use it on the Leica CL quite a lot now, it's a short portrait tele on
that camera (effective about 65mm FF equivalent FoV).

Enjoy,
G
