Larry, I can see you've spent some time putting this together and you are
to be congratulated for that. Its often very beneficial to put word the
screen (or paper).
Here are some of my thoughts on one aspect of your article - YMMV
I'm not sure who you're pitiching this to but some of it appears to
ignore the current state of cameras which take out much if not all of the
technical apsects most of us on this list have had to contend with - for
example, most cameras that can be purchase now have histogram capabilities
that take the exposure issue out of the equation except for some specific
situations, but certainly help in getting the 'correct' exposure by simply
monitoring the histogram. While I don't regret having learned the factors
leading to correct exposure the histogram make that knowledge unneeded to
obtain correct exposure - simply monitor the histogram. Think of all the
film we shot in the past in the quest for correct exposure and not really
being 100% sure until we got the exposed film back from processing.
I doubt that many 'new to photography' users want to get into the nuts and
bolts of correct exposure if the camera can do it for them.
