As Alan noted, it has gotten consistently good reviews. In January I took two MZ-S's to Mali, one with the FA 24-90 and the other with the Tamrom 24-135. The Tamron images are sharp and the lens is versatile. To my eye, the images taken with the FA 24-90 have better contrast and are a bit sharper. The Tamron is a bulky lens. For myself, I'd buy the FA 24-90, or the new FA 28-105 f3.2-4.5 (if it was available in the U.S.) or the older FA Power Zoom 28-105 (I own two of these). But then I usually carry a telephoto zoom as well. If you are carrying only one lens and need the reach, the Tamron 24-135 is a good choice.
