Recently I was looking for wisdom re VuScan vs Epson’s own scan software. I followed some link and wound up watching a few YouTube videos on v600 vs some other model. (Because they included bits about the software options.)
To your issue, a couple of those videos bemoaned that such and such model did not have a good robust slide holder, but you could substitute the holder from this other model… So, in short, do a bit of search to see if there is another model with similar holder that might work.
