Timing sounds about right from my experience. I thought there was a slim chance the the "IRS Notice 1444 (EN-SP)” as indicated on the outside might actually be a check. I had filed a revised 2019 return addressing 2018 income and eventually may get a few hundred back from that. No such luck, it was the political campaign piece. So instead of taking a refund check to the bank, I filed a complaint with the Inspector General of the IRS asking for an investigation of Secretary Munchkin for violation of the Hatch Act which prohibits political activity or the use of Federal resources by Federal employees for partisan political purposes.
