That's all right in Rhode Island there's a place on RI 108 that's self
designated as the middle of nowhere. Having been to the high desert in
California, I believe that they are wrong, the middle of nowhere is
somewhere North East of Palmdale...

The reason I asked is that, years ago, while driving through Vancouver
Island, I saw a sign pointing to "The Center of the Universe." I did not
have time for a side trip, but my curiosity was piqued. I have asked
several Canadians I met in Maui, but none of them were familiar with the
sign or the designation.
