That’s how it’s being done over here too. I had my first shot in mid-Feb and expect the second in early-mid May.
The approach seems to be working, and we are already well into the second shots for the more at-risk people. Cases, hospitalisations and deaths has fallen very dramatically. Where I live the estimated number of cases has fallen from about 1,800 in late Jan to 62 today. Whether that continues for much longer remains to be seen as restrictions are being loosened and we are about to go into Easter weekend, so there will probably be a lot of people travelling to the beach here. This can be compared with the situation in France, Germany etc where the vaccination programme has been slower, the number of cases etc is rising, and restrictions are being tightened.
