In the "new directions" thread the statement was made
that many cameras tend to overexpose slide film.

My 5n tends to overexpose just a bit, but it's never had
anything but negative film loaded in it. Would it under
expose slide film?

I assumed this slight over exposure was intentional, and
that the camera maker assumed 90% of the camera users
would probably never buy anything but print film.

I'm curious, does the DX coding system have any
information other than film speed? Does the DX encoding
tell it the type of film and would it overexpose all
types?

Frankly, If the exposure can't be right on the money,
I'd rather have my negatives just slightly over exposed,
and my slides a bit under.

Just curious, gs
