This is quite obvious in case of any SLR camera. If you point the camera to a bright seen, obviously the viewfinder will look bright and hence the light meter reading will suggest for higher shutter speeds for a particular aperture with respect to a predominantly dark scene whence the viewfinder will appear dim.
