No, you can set the shutter speed manually. Most NTSC camcorders default at 1/60th second shutter speed (1/100th for camcorder with electronic image stabilization). But you can certainly use a high shutter speed - up to 1/100,000th second for some; just that the video won't look smooth anymore. > To find a frame that mimics a still (with no blur, decent > composition, etc.) is something of a chore The blur you see is mostly due to the effect of interlaced video (please see my other post on this thread).
