When I took photo classes in highschool (13 years ago), I borrowed my
uncle's Minolta causse we were too poor to buy able to buy me one (and I
was too busy spending my pennies on computer gear).

However, I wanted a camera. The teacher, as per tradition, suggested teh
Pentax K1000 as it was a solid, dependable camera

When classes ended, I gave the Minolta back to my uncle, and just had no
camera. A long time passes.

Eventually, I had some money to buy a camera, and wanted one (this is
about three years ago). In addition, I had a pile of gift cards for an
online retailer who carried a few different cameras in my price range... I
settled on the Pentax ZX-50 over some Canon rebel body because I
remembered my teacher talking up the K1000.

I almost bought a N-80 in place of the ZX-5n I bought a few years back,
but opted for the -5n, mainly because I already had two (albeit it cheap)
lenses.

I stick with it now because I recoginize quality equipment, and a boatload
of used available, at budget prices. Plus, I love the -5n interface. It
makes more sense to me.
