Subject: SEPTEMBER PUG favorites.

I got a chance to view this month's PUG and several
pics stood out for me:
Petr Pazour's "Skyey Wavelets" is such an
intense combination of color, movement, and the
heightened awareness of scale, the kind of qualities
usually seen at the ocean's edge. Well done!
Dan Matyola's "Vigeland Park". The graphic
qualities of the sculpture work very well in contrast
to the soft depth of the masses of figures carved in
the distance.
William Johnson's "Haircut". Of all the
portraits I see this month, this one was the most
infectious for me. This face is so full of spirit.
Martin Mielke's "Peggy's Cove". I really
enjoyed watching this one download...each level
revealed a new color, a new shape, a new space. What
I thought was going to be a cliche pic, slowly turned
into a personal experience.
Shawn Canning's "Wildoats" exhibits a strong,
simple graphic essence which I found to be as musical
as it is meditative.
Gerald Lewis's "Red Umbrella" is also a simple
but elegant statement about color and light.
Thanks to everyone who keeps the PUG alive...
Bob
