The SPF introduced open aperature metering when used with SMC Takumar lenses. With older lenses, they must be stopped down for metering.
The SPII requires all lenses to be stopped down for metering. The Meter on the SPF remain on as long as a SMC Takumar lens is attatched. Otherwise, the cameras are identical.
