All the foam seals are new, as is the mirror rest. The part installed are as follows: ASA volume (I believe that is the resistor, it cost $55.00), diaphragm actuating lever, sud-plate B (I don't know, but it cost $1.02), mirror shock absorber, 2 SR44 batteries, self-charge base plate A ($5.07), miscellaneous parts (the foam gasketing, I expect, for $10.00), a p.c. board pattern ($128.75 for the main circuit board), and a mirror seat sub-recertac (???? $0.61). The mirror flips up smartly, the shutter sounds right, and the film advance is smooth. The mirror lock lever works right, and the meter shuts off after 20 seconds. This camera was brought to the attention of the service manager (a nice chap named Ben Nishitoba) after I had been told by his staff that the camera had been shipped back to me, when in fact it was still sitting, unrepaired and waiting for parts, in the department. As long as it keeps doing what it is doing now, I'm happy. For the record, this camera was bought new, by me, in 1988 IIRC, and has now been in the shop 5 times for various ailments. It has not been abused, rarely used professionally, and sat on a copystand for 2 years, where it shot a couple of thousand easy exposures. One thing I would like to know, is how long PCI and Pentax plan on supporting the LX? My local guys think that it was deleted in Canada about 7 years ago, so they don't have to support it for much longer. William Robb This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List.
