gfen, When I scan MF vs. 35mm - to really see a good difference, you need to make a very large scan. Then you'll see the detail difference. I'm using an Epson 2450 so I scan the MF at 2400 and the 35mm at 2400. Then you'll see the difference.
Just shoot some chromes and compare them on a light table with a loupe. You'll see it there, too.
