Just speculation at this point but it's believed that the NPS digital back may be compatible with all Pentax 645 cameras - even the manual focus original. Again, it's just speculation, but if you were a third party manufacturer wanting to market a product like this, you'd try your best to make it compatible with as many versions of the 645 as possible.
