Actually, I took art classes (nonphotographic) for three years in high school. That really wasn't that long ago. My sister did the photo classes, and I'm telling you, some of her stuff was really good. Photography for me began in earnest at my newspaper job. I did all the arts events and since these were at night, I was usually the only staff person there.
