Hi, perhaps they threw him into part of the creek where stuff accumulates. The Thames close to my house usually flows quite quickly but there are parts where all the crap that people throw in upstream, often including pairs of short planks, gathers sometimes for days at a time. There are a couple of barges that skim it off the top every now and then. The stuff even includes a sort of dirty foam - perhaps that's 'stupid', although it's not as dense as the planks. I should get the public health people to test it sometime.
