A possible answer to this is that they want everything made on the same "chassis" made on the same production line. Also, they don't want competing products but instead have relatively few slr's that all enjoys increased volume. Therefore, it might be that Pentax don't want to continue a product just because it sells (like in the past). All this is of course pure speculation. P�l
