Harumph! Admittedly, my MX ~is~ damn cute, but I like to think it's a pretty serious camera! <g> (I know, Bruce, your statement is what others may think, and may or may not be your personal opinion)
It is ironic, though, and has been mentioned on this list many times, that the fact that the K1000 has that "student camera" reputation, that it is overpriced, when you consider that one can, for about the same amount of money, pick up a KM, KX, MX, etc, all of which have more features. Of course the nice thing about a student buying a K1000 as a starter slr is that his/her lenses will fit and be usable on every other Pentax 35mm body that they may upgrade to in the future, should they decide to stay with Pentax.
