Oh, Mrs. Reed ~ if you've never handled an MX before, believe me, you'll LOVE it! I've had many mechanical cameras in the past 50 years, but when I handled my first MX, I was pretty certain I'd found the mechanical SLR I'd been looking for! Something about it.
I agree, I have not yet handled an LX, like you have. I'm scared to! There goes my camera $$ for some time to come! <g> [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Hi, my name is Eleanor. > First 35mm camera was a Voigtlander rangefinder (old metal Made In Germany > fixed-lens variety.) > When I decided to move "up" to an SLR, I bought a K1000 because I could use my > dad's screw-mount lenses with an adapter. > Over time I've been through a variety of K-mount bodies -- I had one Sears-by- > Ricoh body as backup to the K1000 and another Sears-by-Ricoh to replace the > K1000 after it was stolen; then traded in the first Sears on an ME Super and > all my 35mm SLRs since then have been Pentax: another ME Super, P30t, Super > Program, PZ-1, Program Plus, ZX-5n, KX, LX. If they ever do come up with a rangefinder, expect this fella to be first in line at the inaugeration, money in hand! > My father, in the meantime, has moved from a screw-mount body to a K1000 and > now owns the M42-to-K adapter I bought back in '82 with my K1000.
