(Talking about a 600$ US item)what would be the Canadian Customs fee's on something like this?
No custom fees if it is written that it's a used item, but, as always, you'll have to pay GST and provincial tax (if applicable), so 7% GST plus 7-8% depending on the province (if applicable), plus 5$ brokerage fee. This is the cost if sent BY MAIL. UPS and FedEx charge a lot more for brokerage fees. On a 600$ item, I guess it would be easily over 100$ can, only for brokerage.
You can also ask the seller to insure it for only part of the value and you'll pay less on taxes. The way I see it, the cost of insurance is not really the few dollars you pay to the seller but the taxes you pay to canadian government. Understand what I mean?
