I regularly use the A2X-S converter with my SMC Pentax 400/5.6. The L converters don't fit any of the Pentax 400/5.6 lenses. But the A2X-S and 400/5.6 are a great combination. Very sharp and not too difficult to focus. The lens has a tripod mount, so balance is okay with the converter installed. Not ideal, but good enough for serious work.
