I've tried doing LFS, and completed it. I had a good time doing it, but I never ended up using the end product. I had intended to make a minimalist distro for web servers, with everything pre-configured the way I liked it. Now that I'm out of full time server administration, my interested has faded.

Okay,

So I've got a question then. Anyone trying to roll their own distro, or want to but needs additional resources? I'm interested in pairing up with someone who has the technical knowhow to roll their own (already doing Linux From Scratch, that sort of thing) but wants some input on the direction, things to include, new ways to approach, that sort of thing.

And yes, I top-post. =) Rather than read bottom to top I read top to bottom, and find refresher info below if I need it. =)

In defense of those who may have chimed in, you'd have to have been
around long enough to know that Russell's jabs at PDXLUG are intended as
anything but humorous. He may try to pass them off as such, but he
truly does try to get under people's skins. There is a long and boring
history between like six people in PLUG and a few in PDXLUG over "the
great confusion" arising from having two LUGS in the same town. Some
people just can't let it go.

As you know <lightning>"there can be only one"</lightning>

Sorry this was your intro to PDXLUG.

I'm still waiting for *any* good projects. All my software sucks :P
