Fewer people translates to less traffic, but I think if you tried to
quantify it, signal-to-noise ratio probably isn't measureably
different than PDXLUG. Of course, unless you read both you wouldn't
be able to judge that.
Well, our signal to noise ratio improves when you stop trying to
convince us that people leaving PLUG have problems. See, if PLUG met
everyones needs, no one would LEAVE. If people LEAVE they aren't
"commie separatists tearing apart a group that has stood for 11+
years". They are simply people who want to do something different than
what PLUG is doing. Or they dress different... or have different
grooming/dental/hygienic/whatever habit. Hell, maybe they have a
different sexual persuasion. There are many reason why.
The real motive is not confused. No one is confused but like six people
in PLUG. Why am I even saying this? I have a better chance of picking
up spilt water in a desert then I do of helping you grasp my point.
PLUG is also a little more developed in terms of public service. They
have two presentations (general and an "advanced topics") and an
install clinic each month. PDXLUG has had a lot more energy for OSCON
booths than PLUG, which is admirable.
Read our lips: We know, and we don't care. We are PDXLUG A Portland
Linux Users Group. (BTW: Note - we compromised here. We added the 'A'. )

[2] <http://server.riverdale.k12.or.us/~danh/> (this is linked from
the top page of pdxlinux.org). Furthermore, the history of the
name "change" has been described multiple times for PDXLUG
readers, so there is no longer any excuse for mischaracterizing
it.
See previous statement. We are here, and we have a right to be here.
Why you can't see that is beyond me.
