As far as Gentoo and distros like that. I think I want to stay with distros that have more support out there.
I've seen few projects that offer as consistently good support as the Gentoo community. There's not a lot of commercial support (yet), but between the excellent forums and self-documenting package management, there's very little here that a skilled admin can't figure out.

If what you mean is that there's no package listed in the Portage tree, have you searched the forums? Many users post their self-rolled ebuilds for less-used programs and/or configurations.
It's also not that difficult to build your own ebuild scripts. If you maintain a large number of seats, there could be a real value to being able to do this.
