I agree. There is no reason for any us vs them... because, I bet quite a few of "us" will sign up on both lists. The best approach would be to leave an open door and let anyone who decides to leave know that they are welcome here. :-) I also think it should be clear though that the topic of *Rails* would still be welcomed within PDX.rb, as would anything Ruby-related. Right? There is also no reason why PDX.rb can't be, "simple, agile, small, and fun!" as well. :-) It doesn't take much to set or change the tone of any collective of people. Being adaptable is an important trait of each person and group. With a little bit of common sense, courtesy, and fun... I don't see why PDX.rb couldn't consist of all these traits. In the past week, I've worked with a small handful of people on a few small projects that were directly for the benefit of PDX.rb. Everyone was polite, fun, and excited about what they were helping with. I hope that the hackfest today is yet another good thing to happen... all in about a weeks time since the email war last week. On that note, PDX.rb will be building their site in Rails, so if you know Rails... head to the hackfest today and offer some help. They are planning on following the Agile method. However, Fun is not part of their agenda. ;-) Cheers, -Robby -- /****************************************************** * Robby Russell, Owner.Developer.Geek * PLANET ARGON, Open Source Solutions & Web Hosting * Portland, Oregon | p: 503.351.4730 | f: 815.642.4068 * www.planetargon.com | www.robbyonrails.com *******************************************************/ _______________________________________________ PDXRuby mailing list [email protected] IRC: #pdx.rb on irc.freenode.net http://lists.pdxruby.org/mailman/listinfo/pdxruby
