Well, on shared hosting environments... we have several instances of lighttpd running and one apache instance that serves out other applications as well. In some scenarios (when people want to pay +$3/mo) we get them a dedicated IP and route their :80 at the firewall to their own instance of Lighttpd on their unique port.
