I'm another Sacramento Ruby programmer who has been considering making the
move to PDX. I've been lurking on this list for a month or two. Partially
to check for work, but also to see how active the Ruby community is in PDX.

From what I can tell, PDX seems to be much be better organized than
Sacramento.

I might put some work into building a local Ruby group down here. I'm
planning on moving to PDX soon, but I have a few months left before I
graduate and I want to start pushing content now.

So far, I've put together some basic info on this Google Groups page:
http://groups.google.com/group/sacrub

If you know anyone in Sacramento that might be interested in joining, please
spread the word. Hopefully I'll be able to post some success stories soon.

P.S. Sam, you might want to try posting to LUGoD.org's job list as well.
Davis seems to have the most active Linux User Group in the area. I'll
probably be posting there soon to see if any of them know any Sacramento
Ruby people.

Sam, just chiming in as a Sacramento Rubyist. Technically I live in
Rocklin :) I subscribe to this list because I will be moving to Eugene, OR
in the spring (originally planned to move to PDX, but now we're going to
Eugene; don't know if Eugene has a Ruby brigade).

There are a few of us further east at least, as a couple co-workers of
mine (I work for Adobe) also use Ruby. But, none of us are looking for
another gig. A potential source is to touch base with the Engine Yard/Human
Intelligence guys, as they're in Sac and are friendly and easy to contact.
Good luck.
