Which version of Camtastic - the one that came with 99SE or the one that is integrated into DXP2004? With the older version of Camtastic, I think I remember that the software expected the kind of files generated by Protel. Although the article applies to importing Gerbers into the PCB editor, I believe the information in the following applied also to the older version of Camtastic: http://www.altium.com/protel/kb/kb_item.asp?ID=2215

In general, Protel software doesn't like to import files with negative coordinates. If your Gerbtool files have a center reference, there are negative coordinates in the generated files. You should relocate the reference point such that all data has positive (x,y) coordinates.

What kind of Gerber file - RS274 or RS274X? If they are RS274 format, remember you will also have to load the apertures before loading the Gerber files.

Does anybody know why Camtastic will not import gerbers generated from
Gerbtool? When I import, It just give a blank screen. No error message,
nothing.
Does Camtastic only read Protel and it's own generated gerbers?

Thanks for any help.
