Thank you, Peter and Brad, for your suggestions. I will attempt to
address both here.
First, I'm not getting any errors when doing the Update PCB, or at least
none that I see. When I was first attempting to get it to the PCB, it was
standard operating procedure to Preview Changes, click the "show errors
only" box, and then work through them. I also always make sure that I'm
not getting an extra tab for warnings. I do not execute the changes if
there are errors or warnings.
I do have a footprint assigned, and it shows in the same dropdown where I
see other PCB footprints that are apparently working successfully. I com-
pared the attributes to a diode on the same schematic page as the relays
and everything looked OK. Diodes and resistors on the same schematic page
as the relays are making their way to the PCB.
Let me note a couple of things I've looked at, prompted by your posts. I
do a jump to CR1 which is on the PCB and it takes the cursor right to it.
Just a reality check. THEN I jump to K1 and it rolls way off the board
and down to the border of the window. Nothing I can do seems to allow me
to go down lower, and I see nothing there. A quick look at the footprint
shows thru holes of normal size and a big yellow circle on the top overlay
with a notch in it indicating pin 1, so if it was in sight in the window,
it ought to show up. Same thing happens for K2. I do NOT see rat's nest
wires leading off the board anywhere. What do you make of all that? It
seems significant.
Let me mention the updates that it continually performs, even with no
addtional changes to the board. First it goes through several messages
like "Remove redundant net NetK3_2." Then a few messages like "Add new
net NetK3_2," and yes, it is removing and adding the exact same nets in
at least some cases.
I have mentioned that I was never extremely proficient in Protel. There
is a chance that I'm doing something incredibly dumb that would sail right
by you. With this in mind, I want to note the options I'm selecting in
the Design/Update PCB/Synchronizer. I have the Net labels and nets set
Global, and the ONLY other options I have selected are the "update com-
ponent footprints" and "delete components." Does that sound OK?
Again, I appreciate your help.
Thanks, Michael
