Thank you, Peter and Brad, for your suggestions. I will attempt to
address both here.

Let me note a couple of things I've looked at, prompted by your posts. I
do a jump to CR1 which is on the PCB and it takes the cursor right to it.
Just a reality check. THEN I jump to K1 and it rolls way off the board
and down to the border of the window. Nothing I can do seems to allow me
to go down lower, and I see nothing there. A quick look at the footprint
shows thru holes of normal size and a big yellow circle on the top overlay
with a notch in it indicating pin 1, so if it was in sight in the window,
it ought to show up. Same thing happens for K2. I do NOT see rat's nest
wires leading off the board anywhere. What do you make of all that? It
seems significant.
Look at the relay footprint in the PCB library editor - make sure that it is
located at 0,0 in the workspace - I suspect that the footprint may be way off
in the negative Y direction, or has something way off in the wilderness - do a
"Zoom All" to see how big the editor thinks the footprint is.
Let me mention the updates that it continually performs, even with no
addtional changes to the board. First it goes through several messages
like "Remove redundant net NetK3_2." Then a few messages like "Add new
net NetK3_2," and yes, it is removing and adding the exact same nets in
at least some cases.
Possibly related to the pins being far outside the PCB workspace.
