For schematic and PCB printing: I use HP 5100dtn laser printer, Protel 2004, several other network printers, PDF Cute Printer driver. I usually print 11x17 size prints. If I don't do a printer preview and look at the printer setup on a new project the first time I print the message I get on the HP Laser Printer is 'load A4 Paper'. If I do the printer preview and look at printer setup I don't have the problem. Future printing works with no problems.
I don't know what would happen if in a new project I printed to an other printer (Canon Printer for example) on the network without looking at the printer preview, etc. Regards and Happy Holidays! However, across two companies and the last 6 years of constantly using Protel P99SE, I haven't had it default to A4 size even once. It either comes up on Letter or it may come up on 11 x 17/Tabloid if that was what I last set it to for a similar print function. My suggestion was not that it was just the driver, that would mean it 'should' also behave the same way with other apps but rather a combination of the driver and something in Protel's code. Over the whole time I have used Protel I have always been connected to HP laser printers, 5000 or various 5 series printers. I don't think my particular problem is with the Windows Drivers. It only happens in Protel. There has to be a global default setting somewhere, but I have yet to find it. I set my templates up as "B" size explicitly and whenever I turn my back the dammed Aussie POS defaults back to A4 or something equally unpleasant. :( Bob ____________________________________________________________ You are subscribed to the PEDA discussion forum To Post messages: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe and Other Options: http://techservinc.com/mailman/listinfo/peda_techservinc.com Browse or Search Old Archives (2001-2004): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] Browse or Search Current Archives (2004-Current): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] ____________________________________________________________ You are subscribed to the PEDA discussion forum To Post messages: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe and Other Options: http://techservinc.com/mailman/listinfo/peda_techservinc.com Browse or Search Old Archives (2001-2004): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] Browse or Search Current Archives (2004-Current): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
