The Open Topic forum. Techserv offers both the PEDA forum and a sidebar
forum for discussion of topics that are...off-topic. Peda is technically
for discussion of Protel-related (directly) matters; use of the program,
discussion of future direction, etc., but not RoHS and similar. My own
opinion on that topic is that it is so pervasive that whether ontopic or
off, it is worthy of discussion wherever it takes place, but that's just
my opinion. Other PEDA members, and more importantly, the host, may not
feel that way...

There haven't been any complaints from either, so I don't see why the
thread really needs moving at this juncture...

Ditto aj,

This one should be big on everyone's horizon. Besides most of the prottle discussion is on the Altium site these days so surely a few issues like this enhance the value of the list not diminish it.

end 2c worth

Cheers

Besides, it is not a useless discussion, it is something that directly affects us, and our use of protel (as most lead free parts are SMD, we have different set of tollerences, different stencil sizes due to the change in the viscosity of the paste etc)

it could be worse, we could argue points like should Don have added 2 cents of 3 cents, as his post was designed for au and other consumption, and the au content has to have GST added ...... ;)

Regards,

Kat.
(not wanting to think about lead free for a LONG time)
