Steve,
I have never had a problem with that, not across 2 or 3 machines
running W2K or even W98SE. Have you pissed off Bill and he invoked some of that
MS voodoo?

I always do this manually. Using W2K, with ample memory and disk space,
Protel often hangs during close if automatic compaction is turned on. I've also
noticed that it will hang when manually compacting, if I move the mouse off
Protel or try to switch to any other app while waiting. Is this something
unique to
my machine, or have others seen this and found a workaround?
