Hi Brad, Thank you for your fast answer but I had the procedure you suggested already done: - I reinstalled SP6, P99SE, - I deleted all '*99SE*'-files in Windows-folder - and reinstalled everything again. It didn't work.
Perhaps there may be another remarkable item: The first design, that crashed on my computer was one with non-rectangular PCB-shape. It was a square with rounded corners. The second one has bevelled corners. Does Protel have any known problems with irregular shaped pcbs? Use the full/clean uninstall procedure below. Your problem probably is in one of the *.INI, *.DPL or *.BPL files that the reinstall doesn't remove. Revision from Protel Tech Support July 5 2002 Protel 99SE Complete Uninstall.(New version emailed from Lori Quevedo, tested solved my problem that I had using the original "clean" install procedure.) Version # Protel 99SE/ Service Pack 6: PROBLEM: Is there a specific uninstall procedure for Protel? I have uninstalled and reinstalled using add and/remove programs but Protel is still acting up. SOLUTION: 1) Un-install Service Pack 6 for 99SE 2) Un-install 99SE 3) Delete the Design Explorer 99 SE directory (make sure you have no personal files or libraries stored here before you do this). 4) Delete the files *99SE.* from your Windows or Winnt folder 5) Also delete from the Windows or Winnt folder *.bpl and *.dpl, if they are still remaining. 6) Re-install Protel 99 SE a) If Win 9x then Reboot 7) Re-apply Service Pack 6 a) If Win 9x Then Reboot Sincerely, Brad Velander Senior PCB Designer Northern Airborne Technology #14 - 1925 Kirschner Road, Kelowna, BC, V1Y 4N7. tel (250) 763-2232 ext. 225 fax (250) 762-3374 ____________ Virus checked by G DATA AntiVirusKit ____________________________________________________________ You are subscribed to the PEDA discussion forum To Post messages: mailto:[email protected] Unsubscribe and Other Options: http://techservinc.com/mailman/listinfo/peda_techservinc.com Browse or Search Old Archives (2001-2004): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected] Browse or Search Current Archives (2004-Current): http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]
