Jeff, List, I will try to make a fuller reply later on, but as far as reading goes you might look up the books by Geraldine Brady and Alison Walsh that are listed here: http://intersci.ss.uci.edu/wiki/index.php/Peirce%27s_1870_Logic_Of_Relatives#Further_Reading I've had them on my shelves for a couple years and they look like must reads, but I've been holding off until I get my own work further along, as I tend to read Peirce a bit differently. The first is (or was) very expensive but there's a link to an online preview.
