What makes Blackburn's brand of Euro-centrism especially pathetic is
that it is so unnecessary. It is after all universally acknowledged -
including by post-modernists - that Enlightenment thought and most of
the intellectual and technological breakthroughs that resulted from
it, originated in Europe. This is like mocking an "European version of
the pyramids" by comparing it to the Egyptian.
