A little materialist analysis, please!
Doyle;
You challenged us to put forward something that SD hasn't done and
won't do in Europe. I'd like to see you talk about what SD here could
do. Someone said SD would require a revolution here, but I doubt
that. In so far as SD is concerned in my eyes the weakness of SD is
defining itself as a nation state apparatus. It may talk about
international formations but those are problems associated with
international unity of SD formations are not seriously discussed about
the international community of a left socialist type.
To be clear, materially, Palin and Clinton proved that women are a
potent social force in the U.S. Sandwichman's idea about shorter work
is a bit abstract, but in SD terms job protection between jobs,
flexible arrangements for time at work, protected and public pay
rules, are all minor sorts of reforms SD could take on.
The left can argue to communalize the cities in building a sustainable
culture. Base the rebuild upon egalitarian precepts of living. Base
a left on out of the work site organizing and into the computer
network culture where the whole of the community is the organizing
premise hence bringing women and their concerns to the forefront.
These communities would be based upon a world wide plan for
sustainable energy living that does not allow the capitalists a refuge
for divide and conquer.
thanks,
Doyle Saylor
