Why not? Not a paradise, but in 1920 Debs received a million votes

Nader's showing in 2000, but Debs, it seems to me came from a richer,
organised, movement, whereas Nader supporters in 2000 were a large
but
alienated bunch of "bleeding-heart" liberals like me. And then
there's
also the history of the CPUSA in the early 1900s.
In other words, you agree with Doug. (His was an ironic quip.)
Not unless I misunderstand him/Gene/Doyle. Gene and Doyle put forward
the idea that the roots of this "capitalist crisis" (in quotes since I
am borrowing that term from elsewhere, if not directly from Gene's
post) date back to 1947. Doug doubts this, AFAICT, via the quip about
the USA being a paradise before that date for leftists. My query in
response is above, to wit: well, may not have been a paradise, but was
better off, from a worker/union perspective (of the left) than it was
after 1947 and the ensuing long honeymoon with red baiting/scare. Am I
lacking clue?
