Oh come on, that's bordering on paranoia. I had my doubts about whether American voters will elect a black man for President, but I have absolutely no doubt that the Secret Service will take a bullet for President Obama just as readily as for President Bush or Clinton. Not that such things haven't happened in history - Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi was, after all, assassinated by a member of her own security detail over ethnic grievances - but the US is not India. One of the most admirable qualities of the US state is its professionalism. It has been able to create institutions like the FBI that reputedly even the Mafia regards as completely incorruptible. I'd say the security of the President-elect is in very good hands. -raghu. -- "Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time." - Steven Wright _______________________________________________ pen-l mailing list [email protected] https://lists.csuchico.edu/mailman/listinfo/pen-l
