Oh come on, that's bordering on paranoia. I had my doubts about
whether American voters will elect a black man for President, but I
have absolutely no doubt that the Secret Service will take a bullet
for President Obama just as readily as for President Bush or Clinton.

Not that such things haven't happened in history - Indian Prime
Minister Indira Gandhi was, after all, assassinated by a member of her
own security detail over ethnic grievances - but the US is not India.
One of the most admirable qualities of the US state is its
professionalism. It has been able to create institutions like the FBI
that reputedly even the Mafia regards as completely incorruptible. I'd
say the security of the President-elect is in very good hands.
